Why Honda?

It’s true – Honda started out making motorcycles. We still do. And it all began with a passion to solve some of the world’s biggest engineering problems.

But there are all sorts of challenges out there, so why just stick to what you know? Our founder, Soichiro Honda, didn’t. And ever since that very first motorcycle was made, his curiosity snowballed; it’s found in every machine we build.

It’s simple really: trust. And when it comes to handling power, is there a more important word?

So we don’t just develop innovative eco-friendly solutions for the products we make – we apply the same kind of thinking in our own offices and factories as well.

For example, you can’t run a factory without using lots of water. So at Honda Marysville we use rainwater instead of mains water. And we save 150,000 tons each year. We don’t just dream the ideas – we live them too.
