e:Technology – A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
At Honda, there’s nothing more important to us than building a more sustainable future. We even decided to bring forward our plans to electrify our entire mainstream range in Europe by 2025 to 2022.
Our decision to bring this ‘electric vision’ target forward is all down to the confidence we have in our cutting-edge electrified products, which we’ve unified under the brand name e:Technology.
Honda e
There’s no better place to start than with our all-electric, award winning hatch-back. The Honda e has brought together years of research, production and innovation to become what we believe to be the future of urban driving. Externally, the new Honda electric car has a state-of-the-art design, with smooth lines, hidden door handles and futuristic cameras in place of wing mirrors. Inside, the minimalist, uncluttered cabin gives the driver and passengers plenty of space to enjoy the numerous modern features, the most eye-catching of which being the infotainment unit, which occupies two stunning LCD touchscreens in the central display. The Honda e is powered by a 154 PS electric motor, which offers a rapid acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. It’s become one of the world’s most talked about electric cars, and has already won numerous awards.
e:HEV
Our e:HEV hybrid range is a step forward in our electric vision. The advanced system – which has already received widespread acclaim across Europe – produces electricity that assists the motor, whereas traditional hybrids use an electric motor to assist the engine. This results in the crisp acceleration and smooth ride of an electric vehicle, whilst still achieving the full power of the Honda driving experience. You can experience e:HEV in a number of our hybrid models, including the Honda Jazz, the CR-V, and soon the all-new HR-V.
PCX e:HEV
e:HEV won’t just be used in cars, it’s also being put into our growing range of eco-friendly scooters. The PCX is the first of which to feature e:HEV technology, and has already found popularity upon its release in Thailand. The engine is assisted by a high output battery, giving the user a ‘torqueful’ riding experience.
The model shown is not available in Europe.
BENLY e concept
Normalising environmentally friendly everyday transport is one of the big steps towards improving the lives of the public, and this is why we’re so excited about our new electric scooter: the BENLY e. Powered by two Honda Mobile Power Packs, the BENLY e is ultra-quiet, super smooth and puts out zero CO2 emissions. There are four different models – e:I, e:II, e:I Pro and e:II Pro – all of which have a large, flat rear deck, with the two Pro models also featuring a front basket, making them ideal electric vehicles for city deliveries and couriers.

GYRO e concept
The BENLY E is just one of our exciting new electric scooter concepts. The GYRO e is a three-wheeled, ultra-sturdy and robust electric scooter. It’s a multi-purpose vehicle that is perfect for navigating large indoor spaces, both because of its total lack of emissions and because of its small turning circle and ride stability. It shares many similarities with the BENLY e, from its overall modern and clean aesthetic to being powered by two Honda Mobile Power Packs.

e:PROGRESS
Our highly anticipated energy management service e:PROGRESS will launch this year, offering a smart charger, smart tariff and a smart-charge control system for users. Electric vehicle owners will be able to charge their car at the most cost-effective time, making use of the most affordable and clean energy available, be it solar, wind or hydropower. As well as benefiting the customer, e:PROGRESS also helps the grid, supporting active grid management to stabilise demand and optimise the use of renewable energy sources. Launching alongside this new service is Honda’s Power Charger, a domestic unit that will charge a Honda e significantly faster than a standard domestic wall socket.
