13 Series

Beat the freeze

Don’t let a cold snap break you.

These incredible Honda Snowthrowers have so many unique features and innovations that they make the time consuming task of clearing snow a thing of the past. You’ll be up and running in no time.

The all clear

At Honda, we constantly challenge everything we do – especially when it comes to our snowthrower technology.

Take the auger for example, right there in the front line shifting tons of snow. We’ve designed it to work efficiently and fast – breaking up ice too, pulverising it into tiny pieces.

Clearing the way

Once the auger has done its work, the snow and ice particles are drawn into the secondary stage where the powerful blower gives it a hefty blast out of the chute. This throws it as far as 17m at depths of up to 55cm, so your entire property will be clear in no time.

The power of two

The first stage scoops up the snow and ice, the second stage throws it as far as possible.

A two-stage snowthrower chews up the snow in the auger (1) and then blows it out of the chute (2).

The auger has special ice breaking teeth so even the hardest packed snow and ice can't stand in the way.

You control where the snow goes

The electronically controlled two stage chute is really handy. The joystick gives you precise control, so you can easily aim the ejected snow to different areas as you move along.

Use the joystick to move the chute up and down (between A and C) or rotate it side to side (between B and D).

Lifting with a lever

When the snow is deep and the job is heavy going, you can make it much easier by adjusting the height of the auger.

When the auger is at its lowest (1), it can easily clear pathways close to the ground. Raising the auger (2) will give you better performance over uneven ground and deeper snow. Return to the low position (3), when the conditions improve.

It’s called the auger height adjustment lever, and it’s unique to Honda Snowthrowers with tracks. The continuous lift from the low setting, which allows you to clear pathways close to the ground, will smoothly rise to take on uneven terrain with deeper snow.

Carry on through

When the going gets tough, a Honda gets going. When your snowthrower starts to bite off a bit more than it can chew, simply raise the auger to its highest setting; it will carry on chomping and throwing, even if you run into a high bank or deep snow. There’s no stopping a Honda.

Raising the auger height will enable the 13 Series to take on deeper snow.

The large lever to lift and lower the auger is easy to operate with gloved hands.

The emergency stop

With a 13 Series Snowthrower there's no need to worry about snow-covered hazards.

How can you be sure your driveway is clear when it’s under a foot of snow? There could be something solid lurking underneath, just waiting. Honda has come to the rescue with a great little piece of intelligent technology that we’ve built into our snowthrowers. Sometimes known as a Torque Limiter, it’s unique to Honda. It automatically and immediately shuts off the engine when it hits a solid obstacle, preventing damage to the auger and the transmission.

A Honda first

This unique sensor mounted on the auger shaft tells the engine to stop when it comes into contact with an obstacle.

When the engine stops it means you've hit something solid is in front of you. Simply clear it away and start up again to finish the job.

Power is nothing without reliability

You can have all the power in the world to clear a snowfall, but if you can’t get your engine started, you're stuck.

Cold air is heated by the engine's exhaust system (1) and is circulated around the carburettor (2). This provides much better performance in sub-zero temperatures and stops the carburettor from freezing.

Honda’s GX390 Pro-Spec, commercial-grade engine is specifically designed to start in sub-zero temperatures as low as minus 25ºC – that’s pretty nippy! Whether it’s an electric or manual recoil type, it delivers outstanding power and torque to push on through some really tough snow throwing conditions. Thick snow doesn’t stand a chance.

Sub-zero heat

Yes, there really is such a thing. The Honda Snowthrower keeps the carburettor warm by circulating the heat from the engine’s exhaust system. This provides you with super reliable performance, smoother running and – most importantly of all – stops the carburettor from freezing. Which of course stops you from becoming hot and bothered.

Power in your hand

The improved control layout makes it easy to adjust ground speed.

Push forward to move ahead, and pull back to go in reverse. It’s that simple. The new speed lever has been centred to ensure adjustments to forward and reverse are quick and easy – even while wearing gloves.

Setting the pace

With the Honda hydrostatic transmission, just pick your speed, and alter it when conditions change. You set the pace, and your Honda Snowthrower will do the work for you. No gears means no shifting; powering through snow with this durable transmission is a breeze.

Stay on track

Our new and improved tracks give you added stability and greater traction.

Good solid grip is provided by the durable but very pliable rubber tracks.

With this kind of drive there’s no slipping, no sliding, just great control – even on steep driveways and steps. Track drive snowthrowers feature pliable, low-temperature rubber tracks with a sure-grip tread.

Holding steady

The caterpillar tracks are bigger for 2015, too, and have deeper tread and a higher ground clearance, which means they provide even better traction and confident handling.

When combined with the right auger position, you can clear hard-packed snow on a steep driveway.

Your turn

The 13 Series is so light and easy to control – with steering clutches fitted as standard.

The tracks and wheels provide great stability in deep and slippery snow. They're independently controlled by two battery-powered electric motors, which are controlled separately via a lever on each handgrip.

Get a grip

The electric motors operate Honda’s unique drive clutch so you can control the amount of turn just by gripping or releasing the levers – it’s that easy. Take the 13 Series on a wide line to clear large areas, or right down to a ‘zero turn’ in a confined space.
