What is a Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and electronic SIM (eSIM)?

21YM Jazz and 20YM Honda e are equipped with a Telematics Control Unit (TCU) which connects your car to the internet using a built in eSIM (similar to your mobile phone). This unit enables you to access any  Connected Services that you have subscribed to via the My Honda+ App.

What are the electronic SIM (eSIM) statuses?

eSIM has two statuses: "eCall only" and "Normal".
In "eCall only" the eSIM is disabled and does not connect to the mobile network. It will only activate in the event of accident.In "Normal Mode" the eSIM can connect to the mobile network, and therefore the Connected Services functionalities can be activated. To use Connected Services the SIM status has to be in "Normal" status. This change can be made at your Honda dealership.
Activation is the point at which the eSIM connects to the mobile network.

What does enrolment mean?

This is the process of pairing your car to your Honda account by confirming ownership..

Do I have to go to the dealership to enrol my car?

When you login into the app, after creating a Honda account, you can add a car to your "Garage" within the app. When sitting in your car with the power on, enter your car’s VIN Number into the app. You will then be prompted to enter the PIN that is displayed on the infotainment screen within the car. The PIN in valid for 10 minutes. The process is called Confirmation of Ownership. This will need to be completed around every 6 months. Periodic Confirmation of Ownership is to protect the account and personal data of both you and the future owner of the car..
