Based on Europe's best-selling scooter the PCX150 wears its sporty lines and elegant curves with pride. The riding position hugs the rider securely while seat height is an effortless 760mm. Practical details include a left side fairing pocket which will hold a water bottle and also contains a 12V AC adaptor, for charging accessories on the go. Even with comfort and room for two, compact overall dimensions ensure the PCX150 wriggles through jammed traffic and into tight parking spaces with ease.
The stepped seat, cups the rider in a feet-forward ‘sit-in’ position and allows the pillion freedom to move around.
The Idle Stop feature automatically cuts the engine after three seconds at idle and re-starts it instantly with a twist of the throttle. It also monitors the battery charge and switches off automatically to avoid excessive drain.
The seat opens with a one-touch switch and stays open thanks to a sprung hinge. In the internal storage compartment there’s enough room for a full-face helmet.
Stylishly presented, speed is displayed by a luminous needle sweeping around the outside of the LCD panel that contains the odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, fuel efficiency meter and clock.
The Combined Braking System (CBS) links front and rear brakes and evenly distributes braking force for smooth and controlled stopping power.
Smart, powerful and efficient
An enhanced Smart Power (eSP) engine powering the PCX150 offers long-term reliability and excellent fuel efficiency of 44km/l (without Idle Stop). It also has great acceleration – 0-50m takes just 4.9s – so you can keep ahead of traffic with quiet, smooth operation and reduced CO2 production. The 8 litre fuel tank means less time at the pumps, giving over 350km between fill-ups.
The city doesn't stop
And neither do you.
While the eSP engine delivers superb fuel economy all by itself the rest of the PCX150 also plays a part. Special low-rolling resistance tyres reduce drag while maintaining grip and low-drain LED lighting and indicators save 40W of electrical power, allowing the engine to spin a little more freely. Responsive suspension and linked brakes absorb the worst of city challenges. Built to look good and last, affordable to own and run the PCX150 isn’t merely a scooter.
